Hello everyone!

ill be quick, I need a new muffler for my 7mgte. Just tired of my old no name brand, rattleing muffler from a cheap exhaust shop. Was wondering whats the best bang for my buck which is under $120.00. My current setup is a full 3in exhaust stainless steel no catr or resonator. The downpipe is also 3in with no turbo elbow, properly heat wrapping the downpipe make a big difference in underhood temp, im looking for something with a deep tone and not loud..i seen counts videos on youtube i learned to stay away from cheap ebay brands, obx and cherry bombs.

thanks everyone for your 2cents

Maybe look in for sale thread from time to time? Getting a good quality muffler brand new would be out of your budget. Or maybe something custom if you know people.

Go big with Blitz Nur Spec from www.gotboostinc.com, best sounding exhuast ever
its not in your price range but might as well save up and get the best of the best.

Nur spec is a loud exhaust.

Apexi n1 is a nice sounding exhaust but can be loud.

A good brand muffler in your price range thats not too crazy loud, would be the stainless Borla proXS.
The 3" in/out cost me about $90.

Have any pictures or video of it?

I've got a Vibrant muffler and resonator and it has a nice low rumble and no drone. It wasn't that expensive either. Can't recall the exact amount but less than $150 for the muffler.

I'm going to recommend this as well. I've heard these and they are reasonably quiet, but still have excellent sound.

I've run magnaflows on all of my cars, but to be honest, they are a little on the loud side, although they sound reeally good.

The muffler on the car when I bought it was a magnaflow and it was too loud for me and with no resonator it droned so bad it made my ears vibrate and everything else inside the car.

There are some pics of it in my build thread. I'll see if I can post one here from my iPad. I don't currently have any video of it though. I can try to get one Wednesday.

Here's a shot of the rear and you can only see the tips. It's basically an oval stock-ish looking muffler with 3" inlet and 2 2.5" tips.

I know that looks aren't everything, but I have to say that I definitely prefer the look of the stock dual tip muffler like gtsfirefighter's over the large tip/can style muffler.

:yelrotflm Yeah, I had one like that. mine has a resonator now, but the casing on the muffler for sound-deadening is only .5" (4" on 3" ID) so it's still pretty loud and raspy. low frequency resonation is borderline too much

My tuner made mine, it's getting the flat black treatment. He said the straighter it was, the more power it'd make. Don't think that's helping w/ noise levels either :icon_neut

Sorry, but no video of the muffler, since the car has never been started with the new exhaust. Soon, though.
But here's a pic, with the two massive tips welded on.
