so i was investigating possible causes for a jumpy idle and when i got the accordion hose off... wow was all i could say lmao it looked like someone tried to repair it with rtv or something but it was like cut all the way around. so would this be a cause of jumpy idle? thanks, a new one is on its way tomorrow though so i guess i'll find out lol.

Heh, Ive been shoving 20psi through a patched up accordian hose for about a year now. I used gasket sealer to seal up a crack and some "rubber" stretchy tape stuff to seal on top of that. So far, working like a champ.

One day I'll quit being lazy and order a new one.

If your idle jumps then check your coil plug wiring(the small harness that comes from the 3 coils and goes to the main engine harness) and clean the ISC valve. I had the same problem and now it idles like a champ:).

Backwards of course ;)

I'm glad you guys were able to clear that up for me. I was incredibly confused! ;)

On a serious note, any leak between the combustion chamber and the AFM could be a cause of erratic idle, imo.
