i think i have everything.. i have a crap mk2 body sitting with a 5mge bolted to a recently rebuilt w58 with new clutch.
i know some of you people are wondering why i would swap a w58 into a
7mgte?!?! because i dont drive hardcore anymore, and i love the w58 shifts (seems smooth) i have all the pedals, master and slave cylender..

What else am i going to need? will the clutch lines work from my mk2?

What wiring do i have to splice to disable neutral start safety?

What else am i missing?

i searched for a bit using terms 5speed swap, w58 swap.. couldnt really find anything.. Will i need a driveshaft? can i use the mounts from my a340?

as soon as i know i have all the required parts, i will start the swap, and transform this thread into a picture show for other people wanting to swap.

any help, or links to other threads covering this, is highly appreciated!
should be starting swap in about 1-2 weeks.

www.driftmotion.com sells a clutch line that works really well. The wiring is on here somewhere because I had to use it. I can't remember where it is, but I'll search later to see if I can help you. Good luck.

You will need the brackets that go from the block to your bell housing. i kno its diffrent for auto and manual.

5m flywheel should work,

you should have almost all the parts you need

you'll need the pedles, clutch master, line's, clutch slave, tranny cross brace (not sure if the mkii one will work in an mkiii) a front half of a drive shaft from a n/a 5psd or whole drive shaft,
you'll also need clutch flywheel and disk, shifter is the same between r154 and w58,
you will need to check on the placment of the shifter weather it's the same for the mkii as the mkiii, the six bolts that hold the shifter cover onto the tranny may put the shifter into a different spot, if so the extension housin will need to come off the tranny and swapped with the correct shifter shaft bar wich will put the socket in the correct spot.

the tranny wings from the mkii will work with the mkiii, aswell as clutch, disk and flywheel, the w58 piliot bearin is different from the r154.

this is all i can think of off memory

edit, if your car has abs, and you dont want the anitlock light on, you might want to put an extention housin on that has an abs pick up on it, and also slide the reluctor ring onto the end of the tranny shaft, NOTE, year dependent, your shaft may not have the collar and pin the reluctor shaft will need ,so the main shaft may need to be changed, aka, might want to source an abs tranny.
