I know it's the forward one...I routed from there, to the filter, to the cooler, back to the tranny. I flushed the tranny once already and I removed the hose between the filter and cooler...pumped it right out of the hose to the pan.
That Trasko is a by-pass filter, it only pulls off a small amount of ATF at a time and filters it down to the 1 micron level. Since most of the fluid is by-passed, there is very little (if any) pressure drop. Works really well...the pan filter gets the big stuff, this one gets the rest. With tranny fluid, the filters will go 10K easy before you have to replace
