((89 N/A 5-speed)) my friends helped replace my starter maybe 2 weeks ago, only problem with the new one was the thing that the thing that holds the power cord to it was broken, and was barely staying on. so i got under the car and used some household cement on it and it worked like a charm for a few days. but then yesterday i took the car to school and it when i went back out, the car wouldn't start, so i get under again and check it out, but it's on there perfectly, didn't look like it was intercepting any of the conductivity but i ripped off all of the cement anyway (more like super glue) and stuck it back on; tried to start it back up, nothing. so we ended up push starting it, that worked (always does :]).
LATER that night, i went to check up on the car, and it started, i was surprised, but now i'm confused, because ALSO... the lights on the inside of the car stopped working all of a sudden as well (the ones so you can see the speedometer and all that at night), could this be relevant in anyway?
ANOTHER PROBLEM...this one i am more concerned with...... i came to a red light, fully stopped, light turned green and when i started accelerating i got to maybe 2500rpm in 3rd gear, and the car begins to just DIE, i start to freak b/c as i give it more gas, the faster it wanted to die, so i figited with the clutch and the gas pedal, then eventually shifted down and i somehow got the car running normal again. this has never happened to me and it definitely scared the crap outta me, couldn't have been a leak unless it decided to seal up somehow, do you guys have ANY idea what could've caused this?
oh yea, i ran a diagnosis, and the only code it gave me was [12] when i couldn't get the car started
