A funny new Dyno Idea

I was rolling the idea around the other day about calculating the area under the Dyno curve. This would give total engine output and tell you actually how much power the car puts out. We often put big singles onto our cars instead of twins, but i strongly feel that a twin that gives more power over all would be faster in many applications. So yeah, it is just an idea. I don't know of anyone that actually uses it, but it would be cool to have how many HP/RPMs or TQ/RPM, or something like that, a car would have. It would also be a very large number. Well, i just wanted to post up my idea. TTFN

well area under the curve in a drag race isnt that important as long as the gear changes stay within the powerband.

a typical gear change wont take you from 6500 to 2500rpm, so a flat 500ftlb torque curve isnt really necessary to have the fastest/quickest car.

In a drag race you want as much peak power for just wide enough of a powerband to keep the car in the power band threw the gear changes.

Though on a road course then i could see maybe needing a wide flat power band because slowing down and cornering could potentially take you under the peak and slow the car down.
