So I have a question concerning relocating fuse box . I asked in the other thread but I think it was lost in the ruckus. What I would like to know is.... If you relocate the fuse box to an area under the fender is moisture a concern . I assume that most of the pieces are at least water resistant.

1) So how would you go about waterproofing everything?
2) Where would you move it to?
3) What problems can I expect to run into when doing this project ?
4) Finally what would the shopping list contain?

Thank you all for your time will give a full detailed of work done and progress

first of all, why are you moving it? Is it worth kicking yourself in the nuts later when your efi fuse goes and your fuse box isnt accessible in any way shape or form without pulling the car apart?

If its mounted underneath the fender between the plastic liner and the metal it shouldnt be exposed to much more moisture than it normally would under the hood. This is assuming you keep it mounted right side up with the lid on.

Where under the fender did you plan on putting it, there really isnt much room to stick a fuse box. Unless you plan on mounting it to that vertical plate below the headlight?

I tried doing this but I ran into several problems that made it difficult, First, there is not enough room to mount the box under the fender the nearest place to mount it with enough room is toward the front bumper but then you would have to extend every wire in the box. Second If you do mount it further in you have to run the harness along the upper wheel well and cut back in further down, the problem with that is if you are at stock heigth with stock wheels you have enough clearance but if you are lowered or run wider tires you get a rubbing issue with the harness no matter how you run it. Since you have to cut and extend all the wires I thought it would just be easier to extend them and double back into under the dash and put your fuse box there. Plan on spending alot of time cutting and sodering and heat wrapping wires, I would take and pin all the wires into a plug and then make an extention harness and remount it wherever you want.

Thanks Jebus and Simpson.
I was also considering an area somewhere in the nose . I have a LIPP cooling plate that KWNATE gave me . That would work great in hiding it from plain sight . A nother option I considered was moving it towards the firewall in the area below the master cylinder . Opinions on these ideas ?
