Well, I guess ive been hesitating to post this build up for a while, but here goes. Started out as a dd ford escort gt and my roommate became bored, and since I had built a couple before, I told him of what could be.

EGTs come with the 90-94 1.8l miata engine factory so the high availability for parts is there.

The goal originally was 350-400whp in a full body escort. Plans changed later on due to controversy of how much the g series trans can handle. Further research led to a safety net of 250whp about 50whp of the unsure line of reliability. Well here goes.

Yeah, thats why we decided to run evo16g turbo wastegate 10psi, and run that at or around 250whp. Theres plenty more mods, just let me get the photos to go with them. :)

If we dont decide to buy the gearset (its 1800) then were going rwd. Theres only so much a fwd can do in the world of traction.

Looks like a nice project! I had a SOHC Escort wagon that I budget turboed and put down 180whp/230ft-lbs and am now building a BP w/turbo powered Festiva. Subscribed :D

it would be way less work or money to adapt the mtx75 out of a focus. They've already been proven to withstand 500hp with very little work. either that or grab the running gear out of one of the rare mazda323 awd turbo cars.

Ok so, since my camera card is almost impossible to get, ill just post some more pics of what i have.

Well, once the engine was broken in n/a I returned it to my roommate who three days later, blew the diff and drivers side axle in one shot. A buzz kill at best.

So it began again. This time with a '94 trans with higher gearing perfect for boost as the '91 will do a lot of spinning as it is.

Starting with the kia rs axles and comparison
