87 to 89 rear tail light conversion

how do you keep a working lock on this setup? the tumblers are not the same nor are the whole locks them self.. I found this out the hard wake... btw anyone have a 87 lock assembly for sale

the 89 is larger clyender, and the tumblers are bigger in the 89+'s
