Does anyone know where is the best place to buy a new engine wiring harness and how much it would cost? apparently it is highly encouraged to get a new one to run the AEM standalone and mine looks pretty jacked so dont wanna deal with the headache.

Not available for purchase new. You have to make your own (which I might recommend if you're going with a standalone) or pay somebody else to make you one.
There are very few new in bag harnesses left from Toyota. They usually go for $600-1000 if the seller has any idea what they have.
I'm currently, as we speak, making plans to get new tefzel wire and completely rewiring mine.

any details on where to get a harness made? or where to get the plugs to pin out a new custom one for my application? my swap is going into a completely gutted truck, so all my wiring is going to be custom..

If it's all going to be custom then you can really do whatever you want. A lot of the pins on a 7MGTE seem to be 090 terminals. The connectors seem to be mostly Sumitomo, but most are not easy to track down new. I'm still gathering info, but it's not easy.
