Lots of good guides on this site for na to T, just do a search using several keywords. I can't think of one place that is 100% trustworthy to buy a used
7mgte and tranny combo. Might be better off making a wanted to buy ad on this site for all the parts you would need.

well for right now i'm about to get the head off so i can figure out what the knocking noise is and it's really coming along great...got some damn hose in the back that was pissing me off so i stopped for tonight...i'm going to try to rebuild the engine but if it's really fucked up then i'm going to get one from jdmexchange.com they seem good and have good feedback. Plus they have a decent price and good warranty for my motor.

Just an update I'm investigating The Common Knocking noise(which on mine was a constant Loud knock...i doubt it is a bent rod...i was thinkin that is was a rod bearing)...I am Sure it is not the valves but The engine needs a rebuild anyways.

here are some pictures of the head i got off today

Yeah it's coming along great The head gasket was in bad shape but at least solid when i took it off...The piston walls were not scorned but a noticed that all the pistons looked like they have had fuel in them(Carbon build up ETC.) except the third which was dry and Clean... no build up...Weird...Plus there were 2 or 3 valves that were White and looked almost burnt or something...real rough but there looked to be no bent/chipped valves....

anyways any info could help
