7M Wiring Harness Year differences?

Hi Everyone,

1)I am getting ready to do a 1JZ swap into my 87. However I wasn't given an engine harness with the 87 because I bought it as a shell. I do have a complete 1990 running turbo car. When I am doing the swap can I use only the plugs required from the 90 harness and still use my 87 dash and body harness or would I have to change those as well. Also if I could use just the plugs from the 90 harness without changing the other harness, what plugs would I need?

2) I was reading the soarer 1JZ wiring guide and I had a question When it says splice into, for example on the B1 plug, it says that into the green wire should be the brown wire from 1K2. Does that mean I should splice one end of a wire into the brown wire on 1K2 and splice the other end into the green wire on B1, or do I cut the green wire on B1 and cut the Brown wire on 1K2 and connect them?

Thanks in Advance.

1) No, get a 87 engine harness.

2) Cut/splice/join - They all mean the samething.

1)Ok, I'll try to source a 87-88 harness. 2) So I could use either method? Cut and join, or T in a 3rd wire connecting both wires.

You have to cut them, then join them, then T the cut you joined by splicing the cut joined T into the 3rd wire you connected.

But seriously, you're just joining wires to your cut 7M harness.
