7M Chassis - Charging system wiring.

So I am about to wire up the 2JZ in my engine bay. I bought all the 2 and 4 gauge wiring to completely build out my charging system. Unfortunately I cannot recall where the heavy gauge wiring connects to the Fuse Box.


Can someone post a pic of where the 4 gauge wire from the Starter connects to the fuse box behind the Left Headlight.

I am also looking for the mount point for my 2 gauge Alternator wire to attach to the Fuse box. I knwo on the 2JZ motors there is a 12mm nut and post that attaches these wires in the fuse box.

I see no such things on the MK3 chassis. Can someone please assist me as to where these heavy gauge wires mount? I only see a few plugs that are coming off the thin long fuse box behind the left headlight/Battery.

Am I missing something from the Main 7MGTE harness? like a conversion harness?

The heavy gauge wire from the starter goes directly to the battery pos terminal.

The alt charge wire is part of the body harness. Near the battery there are two heavy gauge wires crimped together (and originally bolted directly to the 7m alt), they need to be extended to reach the new alt location.

^^ Thanks. on the 2JZ the starter connects to a fused link before the battery ( I guess thats the only difference) I just didnt want to skip that if it was part of the MK3 equation.

Well I have no 7M alternator for reference any more (that's long gone with the motor sale) I am going to try to find the two heavy gauge wires you speak of under that fuse panel underside)

Any pics of the wires leaving the alternator and attaching to the harness? maybe I can find a harness solution?

OK so I found the Alternator harness on the 7M body harness. I will just route the 2JZ extension wire to this particular harness. I also have identified the 3 wires on the 2JZ alternator plug, I will try to match them to the 3 wires on the 7M alternator plug (Black/Yellow, White, Yellow)


So if I have this correct....

Starter ----- 4gauge ------> BAT (+)
2JZ Alternator ------- 4gauge ------ 7Mharness o-ring

Is there anything that connects the battery directly to the alternator? (on the 2JZ, my pos battery term connects directly to the Alternator post)
