5me headgasket the same as 5mge?

I think the 5ME HG goes over the timing cover similar to a 22RE HG. The 5/6/7MGE HG doesn't do that. I'd ask this at celicasupra.com though. I haven't seen a 5ME since dinosaurs roamed the earth :D

Haha, yeah it's from a '81 Cressida I got for free. I just need to replace the headgasket, but have not been able to track one down. I see a lot of 5mge headgaskets however.

Swap a 5MGE into it. A 5MGE engine probably costs less than a HG on a 5ME. The 82 MkII EFI system is really similar to the MK1 5ME EFI system. 5ME also blow HGs worse than 7Ms do.

That is not possible. The 7M has design flaws. ;)
