Doesn't your 87 have a funky weird wing on it? I think it only has two mounting points, where the stock pre-89 wing has three.

It does. The 89 also has the side pieces, which mount on the fenders.

Can you swap the 3rd brake light wiring to the LED brake light without issues, or do you need a different lamp sensor box?

Need a different sensor.

What's the sensor that you need? I have a newer style spoiler that's not installed yet... I'd like to do it right the first time .

Mine is bypassed (87), but I don't know about the 89+

You can usually find the boxes fairly cheep on ebay thats where I got mine and its like a 1 minute swap!!! No reason to cut wires just fix it like toyota designed!!! I think its like a 10mm nut holding it on....

I tried to replace mine, but my box was so rusted, that the connector WOULD NOT come out...otherwise I would have done it the right way.

Only if you had an N/A, but that's true for putting any spoiler on any N/A.

I have an NA; does anyone know how many holes I'd have to drill?:icon_conf

Another thing; one of the rubber tips on the side wing things (the most frontward portion) broke off on mine. D: Is it important?

Thats how it looked when I took my 90 off.

I think the big the hole in the middle was the 3rd brake light wiring hole.


Oh and if your talking about the gasket, you could buy some weather stripping to put there, to keep water out. It may be important as its on the frontal 'leading edge' of the wing.

I was told that there are factory templates for drilling holes available from Toyota for some vehicles, unfortunately not for the MKIII (already got with Houston about it). It would be super cool if someone would print one up.
