2JZGTE swap ran but not anymore...

Little background... This is my first build and first time turning wrenches on my own. I had help over the phone on the wiring and I've gotten my car to crank and run here's my shitty but awesome to me crank vid...

After that it crank and idled fine. An oddity was the temp sensor always went thru the roof. I found the ground was no good so I grounded it. The temp went to normal. I took it out for a drive around the block (without boost connected. I didn't even make it back to the house when problems started. I just let off the gas it stumble to a death. It tried cranking it a few, finally did but really didn't seem like it was able to idle on it's own till I got going. Got back to the house, turn off went to work. When I came back it cranked first try and seemed to be just fine for 5 minutes. I turned it off. Came back to it tried to crank it and fawk!! It would fire some cylinders and die. I'd crank it with my foot on the gas and I'd catch the few cylinders firing and it'd rev on those but die out once I took my off the gas. Now (the past few days it won't even catch the 1-2 cylinders still goin poppup. I pulled codes ... 21 = O2 sensor sig, 22 = THW water temp signal, 31 air flow meter ....I used MK3 codes to translate. I replaced teh water temp sensor. I was told use a volt meter to check resistance on this and that and volts from the sensors ...I haven't cuz I fuckin just gave up the other day.

PLEASE HELP!!!! ...I am tired of not having a car!!!!!! I am stuck at my fuckin house on my day off. I fucking ran out of butter and it would be a 1 hr walk/trip to get more FUCK!!! I have been carless since I was 19.

Just got back from walking to the store for butter, cork screw, and the bigger bottle of Pinot Grigio.

I regrounded a few things. Friend told me that the water temp should be grounded to the intake. Another vid will come tomorrow. It just won't crank now ...not even a little missfire or anything. the starter just turns the motor. Speaking of thte battery is now low cuz of all the trying and no starting. By tomorrow, it may be on the flatbed to http://www.phoenixmotorsportsonline.com/ so it may not matter. I just can't take being carless... it's like my balls were cut off.

the water temp sensor does NOT ground to the intake manifold. Its a closed circuit to the ecu only. That will throw a code and cause the car to run pretty funky. Code 31 is the map sensor iirc. Make sure the circuit for that is wired correctly. Thats like trying to run without the map sensor at all and it probably wont run, haha.

well, however much ground the temp to intake makes shit funky, it doesn't explain the shit I've been experiencing. I will double check the MAP wiring but it is flat beding if it doesn't pull a rabbit out its ass by 10am. I can't take being carless. It's seriously some kinda new mental disorder that i am pioneering.

BUT I need to have a car where I live and I don't want to have to buy another beater and leave my precious sit for another semester while assholes who never did/would/will lift a finger to help ask me over and over if the car is done yet. Holy shit man! 2006 ??? fuck dude you should have come on here a long time ago, hell if I remember correctly aaron from DM flew all the way from cali to help Jay(suprahero) out with his 1jz. You own a supra = your family, and we will take care of you, so yea I feel you on that. Pheonixtuning and Dr. Tweak are great! You should have the car running asap if you do bring it to him. Spoon feeding people information gets very annoying, especially when they get pissy. The Ecu is telling you whats wrong, fix it. If you dont want to deal with it anymore and just want to drive it, send the work to a capable shop and pick it up later.

tissimo, sorry that post was 6 am today (up all night with a big bottle of wine) ...I don't think I was bitching at you but I can't remember. I think I was just tired, tipsy, and generally annoyed with everything including the fact that I stayed up till 6am. Apologies.

I think I am stuck between being fed up with it all and getting it done. Let me not post up till I make up my mind I guess. I don't need to pass on my frustration to you guys. I do appreciate the input. My friend read your post and realized he'd fucked up helping me out. I told it's ok, he's still been a huge help.

To me fixing what the ECU is throwing, I think my wiring is making the ECU throw codes. I'll have to go thru it again.

EDIT: I just let Phoenix motorsports deal with it. They've had it for awhile now ...feels like it's been 4 weeks give or take some days. I wish they'd get er dun already, trying not to pester them though.

Yea, double check the wiring. Use a mkiv EWD as the pins will be similar, but the wire colors will not. Just ohm out the Map sensor, o2 sensor and the water temp sensors wires in the harness and make sure there going where they're supposed to be going.
