So, I am getting around to putting the motor back together. Put in ARP bolts and studs, new head gasket, the 2jz cams I bought from someone on here that they were running in their 1jz, and cam seals.

Here is my dilemma. I'm not sure if anyone else has this issue, or maybe this is acceptable. The 2jzgte tsrm says the .30 is the maximum the thrust bearing should be out.

Check this out:

There is no wiggle room for the cams to go back at all.

Thanks in advance...

That's because the intake cam for the 2JZ sits about 2mm forward than the 1JZ cam.

I have said this over and over. Once you put the cam gears on, you'll notice it more.

The cams would work fine until you get into the larger cams for the 2JZ.
