As per my other thread, I am replacing the 7M-GE in my Mk3 Supra with a 2JZ-GE from a Mk4 Supra
I'm using the welded mounting brackets, similar to the Driftmotion ones
HOWEVER - what about the vertical metal strut on the Inlet side of the 2JZ engine that goes from the Plenum down to a fixing hole just below the lower mounting holes? (now used for the new engine brackets) The dipstick Guide is attached to this at the top. (and another bar is bolted near the top of this, that goes horizontally across to the Power Steering Pump Bracket)
Presumably I have to saw this strut to remove the lower part, just below where the dipstick attaches, as I can see no way of it staying there with the re-located engine bracket in the way.
Can anybody confirm this? Or am I missing something?
Just that I've not heard ANYONE mention having to do this in any of their engine swap write-ups!
