2JZ Alternative Valve Shims

I can now confirm that Ford Zetec-E valve shims are 27.5mm in diameter, the same as stock 2JZ shims. Only the solid lifter variant uses shims. They cost considerably less, too. Zetec-E engines were found in European Market Ford Mondeo's, and possibly US Market Ford Contours (rebadged Mondeo). See the below picture:

No digital readout i'm afraid, as the battery died :/

Still - you now have a verified alternative!

I originally bought these for the 7M - but i was misdirected - the Zetec-E is 27.5mm not 25mm shims, i *think* i need the Zetec-SE shims, which would make more sense, as its a Yamaha designed engine, and 25mm shims are prolific on Yamaha bikes - i'll check that for definite though.

why not just use 1ZZ shimless buckets?
