2j waterpump to 1j issue

I am attempting to put a 2jzgte waterpump from an aristo that I bought from Rajuns onto a Chaser 1j the problem area is were the waterneck mates to the rear housing.

The 1j hydropump's opening is horizontial and the 2jz is at a 45 degree angle. He sent to different rear pieces and one matches perfectly, the other does not. One matches where the pieces mount to block, But not were they meet each other. Am I supposed to use the 1jz rear with the 2jz front? Did I buy the wrong piece? MAybe a difference between GE and GTE? I tried to search and only found threads on waterpumps and it ommited the 1j and 2j from the search .

you'll need a complete front and back housing of a USDM 2jzgte (P# 16100-49847
retails for about 119 bucks plus shipping). Contact Champion Toyota or Elmhurst Toyota (info on Supraforums.com main page)

is your 1jz running a hydrofan? if so you wont be able to use the full 2jz pump. you will have to switch the housing i believe. when i swapped mine to a 2jz waterpump i also went electric fans....
