So lately i've noticed that i'm starting to get a light smoke out the back of my 1J and I know that pretty soon it's going to be time for a valve stem seal replacement.

While I have the cams out i'd like to do a USDM cam replacement, what i'm wondering about is a list of things I should look at getting.

I have valve steam seals already so I know I'll need a few items so far:
2J cams (Not sure about where to get them grinded down, maybe driftmotion)
Valve Cover Gaskets
1 CPS sensor

Can anyone else think of what else I should replace? Springs? retainers? What is needed to run these cams is what I'm getting at.

If there already machined you just need shims to re shim so you have the correct clearance. Other than that everything else is the same.

What do you gain from usdm 2j cams? Just curious

With factory twins you gain some in the top end from what i've been reading. If you look a round a bit you can see some dyno papers from some of the papers people have done. Ive seen numbers from 20-60 whp (Depends on the set up of course).

Anyone know of a valve cover gasket kit? I have some that I used to replace mine like two years ago, but i'm guessing they'll need to be changed.
