I have a 1UZ-FE swap not a JZ but I had my ALT rebuilt and upgraded to over 180 Amps. The only thing that I had to replace was the ALT fuse in the fuse box under the hood. I removed the old one and replaced it with a external 250 Amp ANL fuse as they don't make the stock style in anything over 120 amp.
I did the power rewire deal suggested by the gurus... may be in the Tech sections of the forum. Replaced large alternator-wire w/a 0-gauge, also have the same gauge going to the battery (relocated to hatch).
