Hey everyone,

I just completed my 5 speed swap and the car is running fine. However there are 2 main issues right now.

1. Car will not start all the time.
I took the BLACK and WHITE wires and spliced them together so that the car thinks it's in park and starts up. However I sometimes need to run a wire with aligator clips attatched to the spliced wires and "connect" the other end to the positive terminal of the battery to start the car.

What would cause this?

2. My r154 is leaking from where the shifter mounts into the tranny. Is there supposed to be a gasket there? Could this have been caused by overfilling the tranny?

Thanks

1. Did you use an appropriate gauge connector when splicing the wires together? If you just stuck what you had on it it may not be able to pass enough current though it. Should use a yellow 10 gauge and make sure its a heat shrink type to seal out water. If thats not it your going to have to do some ohm or current testing to find out where your resistance is.
