good idea or bad idea? I have read that they will fit and I am pretty bored feel like taking on a new project. Would like to know if anyone has personal experience.

I have a 1jzgte block thats been sitting for quite some time

Yes they fit. But the compredion ratios may be different.
The cp piston I have in my block are 9 to1 but 10to1 in a 2j.

I've been using 2JZ N/A blocks with the 2JZ-TT pistons. Dunno how that works "compression-wise" in a 1J, 'cept that you would have to use 1J rods for sure (stroke length or whatnot).

Wouldn't the pistons not reach tdc if i used 1jz rods... I know its probably wiser to use 2jzgte pistons but I dont want to spend money on them :p. I will be doing this in the spring and I will post the results! If anyone has a set of 2jzgte pistons and rods for sale let me know via PM.

I don't think you can use the 2j rods. In a 1j block. The 2j block is an inch taller. And the stroke is way to long for the 1j block.

You have to use 1j rods. And 2j gte pistons. Like hvyman

They both have the same bore but different stoke, same diameter hole but the 2j moves up and down further. Thus more displacement, it might run but not very well. If you need to get it running on the cheap to get to work it might work, but if you want to go fast use 2j pistons. The location of wrist pin is different and piston will not be all the way up at tdc.
