So I have a 1jzgte in a mk3 it has a 3inch exhaust boost cut controller apexi neo and a front mount and I've had this miss fire issue for a while now my car runs really rich like 10s at idle and wont rev past 4-5k when accelerating and wont boost past 10psi. Im pretty sure its ignition related i have 2 ecus one from a working car as I was told ive swapped ignitors bought brand new coil packs replaced one cam sensor and found a cracked wire on my rear cam sensor which ima waiting to replace when it gets here. My question is, Shouldnt I be throwing a check engine code if its a sensor or if the ecu isnt recieving a signal from my cam sensor it should throw one. I also disconnected both cam sensors while it was running and the idle didnt change at all still was miss firing any help is much needed thannks...

What are your spark plugs gapped to?

Have you opened up the ecus and checked for leaking caps?

Have you tried unhooking the neo?

My plugs are gapped to .026 and I've opened one of the ecus and I dont see any signs of leaking capacitors anywhere. No I haven't tried to unhook my neo. Have they been known to cause issues like this??

So I disconnected it and nothing changed. I cant rev about 4-4500K I replaced both cam sensors and the one pig tail that was broke and nothing changed.

I checked my voltage for my throttle position sensor at wot and its only 4.07 volts and since its a 5 volt system I read it should be any where from from 4.2-4.7 at wot. Does anyone know what it should be for our cars??

Did you check it with your foot on the gas pedal or by manually opening the throttle?

Can check the tps adjustment.

By opening it manually. Damn I'll go back and check again. What makes the difference? My cars idle should change if it was unplugged right? Should I get my ecu recapped just to rule it out?

Typically you can open it a tad farther manually.

Not really. It might change in tone for a second but it will use another sensor in its place.

You can open the Ecu and check the caps.

Ok I'll do that either way I think it's good. I opened both of them and they both look good. What's your suggestion wouldn't hurt to have them replaced I've heard of them going bad with no signs?

What injectors are you running?
02 sensor? they get lazy over time.
Have you done a compression test?
Stock setup shouldn't need a neo.

stock injectors, i unplugged the o2 and it kept running so figured it was good. Yeah it needed a tune a/f were 9-10 in boost so I bought that tuned it and was running great.
190 in all cylinders except number one its 193. I guess if the o2 is wore out it would still read but give false readings which would cause this? Would it cause the 4500 cut out though??

Can you free rev it past 4500 at in neutral not under boost? Has it always done this after the swap? My car did the same thing wouldn't go past 4500 like it was hitting a rev limiter then found out I was rocking a soarer auto harness and I needed to ground out the nsw and sta wires and after I did that I never had a problem.

You have too look closely at the caps for a clear stuff coming out and the bottom rounding.

o2 sensor will NOT cause a missfire.

What plugs are you running?

WHat fuel pump? 12v mod?

O2 would make it run rich but you should see some change up from 10 AFR. Mine atarta in the high 12s low 13s during warmup. Have you tried trimming fuel with the neo?
What does the AFR do at 4500?
Can you check fuel pressure?
I have allways used manual harness so check what kornfedmk3 said.

It's an auto harness it has never done this until I put larger injectors in it started doing it so I went back to stick still does it. I can free rev past 4500 it's just under a load. I unplugged the o2 sensor while it was running today and no change in idle I put new clips on my coil pack connectors and it doesn't miss anymore now It just runs really rich. I've look for leaking caps. A bunch real close and hard and still can't see any damage. Bran new bkr7e gapped to .026. Same as always. Brand super spark coil packs as we'll as cam sensors crank sensor is not new but it's working. I'm leaning toward o2 sensor but it won't be in till Tuesday :(

I've tried to trim fuel with it even with it trimmed down it still idled like shit. The afr at 4500 in boost are in the 8s and no 12v mod to pump
