1JZ with SC300 Alternator sticking too far forward

I replaced my stock alternator with one from an SC300 and I noticed that my alternator is sticking too far forward. When I say too far forward I mean that the belt is having to strain and go forward. I was thinking of trimming the mounting bracket for the alternator, but I'm sure there's gotta be a much better solution to this problem. Worse case scenario, I have to replace the alternator with one off of an actual 1JZ. Anybody else ran into this issue before? I'll post up a pic tomorrow, bed time now.
