My 1JZ is using about a quart per 1000 miles. Oil is not leaking under the car, the exhaust is not smoking, is it time to go single? if so, is it possible to get a single turbo to make 400 hp without upgrading fuel?

you can safely do 350whp on stock fuel if it's doing what its supposed to do. You can get drop in 440cc injectors from an aristo that will do 400whp, which will also require you to run some kind of managment, safc2 is fine for that low hp.

that is a lot of oil to be losing in 1000 miles for a 1jz. I would perform a compression test and also a leakdown test just to make sure that it is not the engine that is burning oil. You could have bad turbo seals, but most likely you would have some smoke in the exhaust.
