1jz single turbo problems...

I got a 1j single turbo (Precision DBB 67) and for some odd reason the turbo started making some strange sound like the wheel is grinding.. but when removed down pipe everything looks fine. My current setup is 440 with DBB with aem wideband... car is also untune so I know by driving it can cause problems. I'm just looking for a little advice on what could cause my turbo to sound like that.

Worn turbo? Shaft play? Any smoking?

Doubt that.. No shaft play.. No smoking.

I don't know why else a turbo would make a grinding noise unless it is bad.

sounds like a damaged turbo to me.

Sounds like a POS PTE turbo to me

Depends on how old it is, etc. but PTEs rep hasn't been that great for quite some time.
