'Parameter Idetification' they are used to request data from the cars PCM for all OBD-II cars. Pretty much plug in a scan tool and you can see all the voltages/temperatures/pressures on all your engine and trans sensors. I was wondering if there was a way to get read that data off a 1jz OBD-I PCM. I got in touch with Driftmotion and it doesn't seem like you are able to.

I think there is a way. one quick way i can think of is they sell an obd1 to obd2 toyota adapter online just google it, if the 1jz harness has the same diagnostic box like the aristo 2jzs have on the intake manifold i would try that. The other way is to make your own obd port and download a software. this link should help you it talks about wiring in a com port to plug into your computer and then download some kind of software and it should work. i downloaded the software and it pops up various PID's so i think it might be useful.

Not all obdII uses a can bus network. It really didn't start getting popular until a little after the early 2000's. Not to say some cars didn't have them.
