Hi Everyone.

Reaching out to fellow SM members who may be able to give some help / direction on solving problem.

Know there are a lot of smart, helpful members out there and hope some may have experienced or
can give ideas on what the problems could be .

Background info

Swapped a 1JZGT from a 1991, 1/2 cut we got from Japan, 53000 km on it - even has last oil change
sticker from Japan - into our 1987 Supra turbo .

Our build has taken over 4 yrs, full restoration - every part taken off the car.
Car status > ready to go to body shop for paint after we get it running .

Extended JZ engine harness / new plugs / traced and matched to 7M harness ..
Anyone that has done this - very tedious - long process .. If every do it again - better
to just spend money and buy one that has been dine.

FIRST START UP

The engine started very quickly and idles no problem .

Found 2 problems - oil leak from turbo and radiator hose leak ..
Fixed and started again ..

Idles until you turn it off or step on the gas ..

Checked

> pressure checked fuel pressure - holds for over 2 hours
> pressure check turbos for leaks - nothing

Background Info

> basically 1JZ was left alone - did not touch or change

some of the parts ( not all ) - that was installed on the car

- changed injectors to 550
- new resistors on ecu ( experienced electronic guy did it )
- new Bosch 044 fuel pump
- O2 sensor
- new clutch / flywheel
- new throttle position sensor
- new ignitor / plugs / wires
- aeromotive AFPR
- HKS Twin Power DLI
- Greddy speed cut defender
- new 140 ampalternator
- new fuel pump and stainless steel lines
- Apexi fuel management computer
- apexi turbo timer
- all new gaskets

lots of new other parts but nothing that is engine related

> original cam position sensor and crank sensor

Plan is to take it to a mechanic / shop with diagnostic equipment etc.
After searching our area, found one that has been working on engines for 20 plus years + he builds
race and custom cars .
He is familar with all kinds of engines / turbos etc., but never worked on a 1JZ.
Other than going to Toyota dealership , ( shop rate $ 170 per hour ) = not a lot of options
in our area

Just want to provide them with some direction / list of things to check
Help keep the bill down

Appreciate any advice and guidance any of you may have

Thansk very much
