doesn't sound like one

but that guy has one hell of a setup

Syquential shifting seems like a hydrolic E-Brake.

Also seems like he has a electronic control over the 4Wheel Drive. Cause it's kinda hard/impossible to drift like the with 4WD. but he does have it as you can see in the spin

thats one hell of a modified cosworth

they always have crazy cool shit in Europe.

Aah the escort cosworth - i loved those cars :)

all that power is from a 2.0 litre engine who's block is basically lifted straight from a pinto. Garrett T4 on that (most common, as they came with either the T25 or the T3 as standard), Pectel Engine management, BD-10 Cams, forged rods and 7.7:1 pistons, more than likely a brand new crank (cosworth still make them). Gearbox on that is a Quaife re-built MT75 - that alone is like, £6000.

The 4x4 system on those isnt a 50/50 split though - its 66/34 with a RWD bias - rear diff only is limited slip (7.5"). Front diff bolts to the side of the sump, driveshaft runs through it.

Pick up any copy of Fast Ford magazine and you'll see them at least that mental :)

A buddy of mine lived in the UK for awhile, and said he loved those cars. I don't know if it's true or not, but he said they were the most stolen car in the UK for quite awhile [Cosworth Sierra model].

Yep - even now they still command a high price, basically due to rarity and dwindling numbers. Escort Cosworths were the most nicked - a reason why insurance for anything with a Cosworth Badge on it is in group 20+, the highest you can get. My quote on one was £5808 a YEAR.

If you want to BUY an escort cosworth, you're looking at at least £10,000 ($19,000) for a half decent one that needs a bit of work doing.

Well, the US and European Escort shared almost NOTHING in common. We started making Escorts from 1963, you started in the 80's ('81 iirc). The first two we made were RWD with either 1.6 litre X-flow OHV or 1.6 Pinto OHC engines, followed by the RS1600, RS1800 and RS2000's, which used 1.6 and 1.8litre OHC engines from Cosworth, and the 2.0litre Twin Carb Pinto engine. Mk3 escort made in 1980 to 1985 was FWD and used 1.3 to 1.6 litre CVH engines, with the optional K-Jetronic Fuel Injection (XR3i) or the RS Turbo option. Mk4 (86 to '91) was just a facelift, and didnt change a lot other than looks. Mk5 ('91 to '00) was a facelift again, but carried over the CVH engines in the early part of the range before switching to the 1.6 or 1.8 litre ZETEC engines and the one off 2.0 for the RS2000 and RS2000 4x4. It was facelifted again in '96 for a final time.

Escort Cosworth is based off the pre-facelift Mk5 in terms of looks and interior, although its a custom shell built by Karmann - uses the Sierra 4x4 floorpan rather than the Escort Floorpan.

Escorts were removed from the range in 2000, two years after the introduction of the Focus which was designed to replace it, with the 6,700,000th Escort rolling off the Halewood assembly line shortly before the plant closed.
