Ok the other day i noticed my voltalge gauge was reading 8-10v as i was driving to work i parked the car and decided to come back later on and check it out. Turns out the positive cable that goes to the altenator was hanging down too low and got sliced in half by the belt.I replaced the sliced cable but now voltage still reads 8-10 volts and the car idles high rpm around 3k immidiately after you turn it on. Then after awhile it bounces up and down from 1.5 to 3k constantly can this be the the altenator or battery? Please help me
If altenator fault what altenator fits directly into 1jz?

the sc300 2jz alternator should fit directly....check out driftmotion.com. i think you can buy it from them.

and check the positive going to the alternator RIGHT WHERE IT BOLTS to the alternator. make sure its not brittle/cracked/shorting out. i had that wire go brittle one time and it kept sparking against the nut and eventually almost disenegrated the nut/bolt.
