1ggte cranks but no spark (5speed89mk3)

its been 6 months since i became an owner of an 89' mk3 with a 3rd gen 1ggte and it's still not running=( school got in the way so i had to take a vacation on the project. anyways, when i got it, it needed a coil/igniter and the engine harness needed to be extended 5 feet and be re pinned to the ecu. so i had the wiring done with help from D.LANDAPERFORMANCE and i managed to find a used coil/igniter for $80. everything is installed now the engine cranks over but there is no spark. my concerns are more about the coil/igniter and everything thats connected too it since that was the main reason the car would never start in the first place. does anyone have pics of their engine they could share to compare? where should i troubleshoot first? i havent changed spark plugs or any of that and ive already researched on what i may need for a tune up. i have time right now and i dont have much experience with wiring but i'd like to save money by doing the work myself so i appreciate any help!

Have you checked all of your sensors? Throwing any codes?


If you're getting fuel, and no spark, it very well may be the ignitor. Situations like this with no history of how it was installed make it difficult.

Sorry for the late response! right now im goin to college so i dont have too much time to be online. I've checked all the sensors they are all fine. I have some current pics of the engine so hopefully that helps so everyone can see where im at. When i took the pics just yesterday i barely realize the alternator belt wasnt on!:nono: I have it, its just not on yet. So far it seems to me like im gunna have to wait for someone to get it running. Everything is connected EXCEPT...

nevermind the breather i used a factory honda intake to replace the supra one which happens to have a hole. where does the other...
