Hey guys, I'm sure this is the most basic of basic questions when it comes to swaps, but i was always under the impression that the 7m and the 1jz shared the same engine brackets and mounts past 1989 when they switched to round mounts. But measuring them up the engine sits 3 inches further forward than the 7m...? so are the brackets different and i need do buy brackets or is there a secret to making the stock 1jz brackets work? Or did i maybe even put the brackets on wrong? Any help greatly appreciated as I'm soon putting the motor in and searching on google has given me no consistent or straight answer

think of the bracket as adapting the mount to the engine.

the mount works to the car and the bracket allows the engine to bolt to the mount.

edit: i was thinking 2jz as usual ;p it should be the same as long as your car is 89 and up

left is from the 7mgte right is from the aristo i ended up using a solid

with the swap you need the jz bracket or the mounts to adapt its been so long since ive done a 1jz swap i cant remember started opting with the 2jz less problems
