Hey all, So I've got my engine torn apart and I had figured it would be no big deal to order a new set of rings.
The old ones aren't bad, there's less than 30K on the motor since it was re-bored and machined and all that - I can still see the cross-hatch on the cylinders like brand new so it won't need to be re-bored.
Here's my problem, the pistons/rings are 1.00mm over (I think they were NPR but I can't remember for sure) and I can't find 1.00mm oversize rings anywhere online except DNJ rings from Rockauto and I'm not sure about that brand...
I haven't de-glazed the cylinders yet so I suppose maybe I could get away with reusing the rings that were in there but I really don't want to - has anyone reused rings after 30K or so miles before? Seems to me like it'd be asking for trouble...
Anyone have any suggestions on vendors that might carry the oversized rings? The .020" ones seem to be available everywhere, .040" not so much...
