Breaking in the new rear end and line lock

The advantages of a line lock. It's still on the stock limiter at 6250rpms. With the 4.11's it revs up real quick! That burnout was using 2nd gear.

Breaking in the new rear end and line lock

rev limiter? Could also be the exhaust, it's grossly oversized for the power I'm making now. It's still a y-pipe setup. Custom job done by me, 3" mandrel bends into a flowmaster dual 3" in/4" out merge pipe (the y pipe), 4" electric cutout, then narrowed back down to the stock catback.

Breaking in the new rear end and line lock

This is something I never got. I understand about developing a wear pattern and breaking a rear in. But making them brittle? The rear end will never generate close to the heat the gears saw in the hardening process. I've also been confused on that and why it will make them brittle.

Breaking in the new rear end and line lock

What is? Something like 4-5 warm ups of about 20 min of driving with a complete cool down in between? Then maybe 500 miles of driving afterwards? Perhaps a fluid change after that? I might have done something like that before the 2 min burnout. The title is a Joke....."breaking in" as in...

Breaking in the new rear end and line lock

Got a new fabricated 9" w/ 4.11s. Also installed a bunch of other goodies including a line lock. Had some extra wheels that I will be using for drag radials so I had to do "something" with the old tires on them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YDUboW9Q0c

You might be an LSx owner if

...you break the rear sway bar end links because they've rusted through because the car was a Canadian car that was transplanted to Florida. Then go to the local autoparts store and find out they have them in stock for $5.99, lol.

Anyone have a car impounded before?

I read that, hence why I knew it was in the apartment complex parking lot, which btw you haven't said whether you were living there or not at the time. Your car also has this nifty little thing called a VIN. Running a VIN will determine if the vehicle is registered, to whom, and who's it's...

Anyone have a car impounded before?

Need the whole story if you want help from anyone with real legal background here. Funny thing about human nature, people seem to only add things in stories that make them look like a victim or not at fault and convienantly omit or twist anything that would detrimental to them. Sad thing is, you...

    Detailed Mark III Supra

I've done probably 8-10 so far (I can't remember exactly, lol). 4 times on my cars, the other's on family members cars. Jeff's was the first time I really documented a good before and after.

    Detailed Mark III Supra

I used #83 on a lake country CCS orange pad (medium cut), then followed with a white lake country CCS pad (light polishing) with 3M's finesse it II. I tried a few combos before getting to that particular sequence. I use a hodgepodge of stuff, but I love the versatility of 83. I might dabble into...

    Detailed Mark III Supra

Damn, looks like I need to setup shop in Cali, lol. I've really only been doing this as a hobby for about 3-4 years and using a rotary for almost two years. I've recently started doing this as a side business since I'm starting law school this August. Things to ask is what do they use on the...

Thanks. Was looking through seeing where it would fit best, but since it wasn't my car I just played it safe and put it in General Mark III :icon_bigg: .

    Detailed Mark III Supra

Got a chance to do 7MBoost's car for next to nothing so that my work could get some views by other people and hopefully some business. It was originally a red car and had a repaint done a few years ago to black with blue pearl. Well he was busy putting the engine together and a few other things...

So my dog broke her pelvis

I'm sorry that your dog got hit by the truck. But, I'd just like to point out that this is the reason many dog owners/trainers live by a couple rules. One of those rules are that the dog is ALWAYS on a leash unless inside an enclosed/fenced in yard. My babies are always on a leash when they...
