I too was quite impressed. There's a few areas on the firewall that i need to touch up, but shouldn't be too hard.
Lately i've toyed with the idea of just going 2JZ-GE-T for now...i just can't stand the distributor sticking out of the head...anyone know if there's there a coil pack conversion...
Sorry for the misinformation. I just remembered, the Soarer was offered as the 3.0 GT and used the 2JZ-GE after '94. They replaced the V8 in Japan that year.
So technically, that could be from a JDM Soarer...but i wouldn't trust it.
I wouldn't believe most of what's said in that ad. That's a USDM motor since, as stated earlier, JDM models had either a single turbo (VVTi) or twin turbo 2.5L 1JZ. So the fact that it was imported (by saying it came from a JDM Soarer) is already false. Second, they have a 20K mile gap between...

Hmmm...That's pretty quiet for an RFL...even without a load on the engine...
The one on the 7M i was driving was INSANELY loud at the slightest amount of boost.
When i re-installed my spoiler after getting the car painted, i used 3M double sided tape along the edge just for that extra piece of mind. It's far enough inside that you can't see it.

BTW...still have that voltmeter from the 89+? I could use it to replace my non-working boost gauge...
Good choice on the setup. If those springs are new, I think you'll actually see it get a bit lower over time as the springs settle. The H&R's i've got basically slammed mine, but they were quite used.
Got quoted $354 for a new crank seal...insane. Looks like i'll be swapping motors sooner than i thought.
I REALLY want to convert to a 2JZ motor, but i had planned on that farther in the future...I might have to bite the bullet and do one of 2 things...
1. Rebuild or swap another...
I'm running an Apexi dual stage on mine. Don't see it around all that much. Seems to hold boost pretty well. Not really that loud, but it's quite smooth. I've driven a MKIII with a Turbo XS RFL and the blow off after boost was quite harsh and the car seemed to jerk a bit. Don't know if that was...
My driver's side one is broken as well. The little plastic cup broke off. Not really noticeable. I just use the the door latch pocket to close the door and make sure no one touches the handle.
