my last few attempts at getting a nice mk3 just didn't work out and i recently tried a 2jz /r154 swap into an sc300 and that had to be abandoned because the cost of the project just got extremely overwhelming. I found a guy selling a 89 mk3 locally with a 1jz. the description is below, let me...
i kinda agree, there is absolutely too much work to be done and if there ends up being stuff missing, its probably gonna be more money than i would like to spend hunting for parts. Maybe if the interior was all there, i would deal with all the other stuff.
Found an 87 mk3, white on burgandy, 5spd, targa.
Good: none really
Bad: needs interior carpet, needs two front seats, needs all interior panels put back together but they're all there, needs a new windshield, top right corner of the windshield has some rust. tail lights needs to be put...
the funny part is, thats a direct in and out swap. i would have that motor beasting and pull up beside a mustang or something one day and blow off at his ass. Ah! the look would be priceless!
I was looking around on ebay and came across this:

the MAJOR tecnicallity with shipping a parts car is the engine/powertrain HAS TO be in a seperate container from shell and shipped under different names and must not be picked up at the same timei, US customs is not stupid.. my uncle did this with and evo 5 from jamaica, then sold it for almost 30k.
Its kinda funny because people really do it ALL the time. But it should only be done with an american counter-part. it would be stupid to revin a skyline as a mustang..lol. but i had a friend import s14 silvia and revin-ed it as a believe 92-93 240sx, he told everyone that he spliced his shell...
there are reasons you have customs brokers out there, companies that work inside the system. To buy a car from japan and have it shipped here, a regular individual will probably never see their car....there is alwayz a way and thats where brokers get their money.
Here is my secret, if the car...
being from the caribbean i've grown up around japaneese turbo cars all my life. EVERYWHERE ELSE on planet earth gets them but the us, because our laws make it almost impossible for an individual to get their hands on one without knowing the right people.
Remember its the year 06', and...
Im still hooked on this car and i have several links to japaneese car suppliers thats not in the US so i can buy the car directly. Here is what i've found. 1993 mk3(YES A 93!) with a 1jzgte w/5speed / 84k km or roughly 48+k miles but its a hardtop for 1100usd/ 1500shipping in container/ 730us...
check if you still have ac in the canister when its blowing, if it ran out you might have a leak. otherwise you can go to almost any local parts store and buy a converstion kit. my opinion r-134 blows cold as hell.
