I appreciate that information. My girl friend lives about an hour from there so maybe that will be doable. Anyone else have any place they would reccomend?
I am looking for a quality reputable machine shop to deck my block and resurface my head to acceptable r/a and other tolerances for a stopper style metal Head gasket. I have searched and asked this question in regional forum but did not find anything. I just had some work done by my local...
Well, looks like I answered my own question in regards to compression ratio. If the calculator is correct it will only change compression ratio by .04.... So I reckon that should be ok.
Further I have read that people have used 86mm bore headgaskets with stock bore size without any issues...
Howdy, I am in the process of prepping my 7mgte for a metal headgasket. I bought a partially put together engine, it came with an HKS stopper style headgasket. New Pistons and rings, arp studs, etc. In the process of measuring stuff up though I came across the headgasket bore is 86mm. The...
I am in Oswego looking for a trustworthy machine shop that has experience with machining the 7mgte. I am just looking to install and metal head gasket and I am looking to get the block machined accordingly.
The story, I just bought a 7mgte from a gentleman. He rebuilt the bottom end and and put the head on. He said the head was warped and he had it milled, but he can't remember how much was taken off and has no way of finding out.
I got the engine with the head attached to the block. He said he...
I have spent a few hours trying to design the flange on mastercam. It is much harder to do than I originally thought, whoever designed the back of the turbo must have wanted to make things difficult. The whole thing is angular, with all sorts of different tangents and whatnot....
Thanks for the input everyone. Ideally I would like to go stainless, if I can acquire some tubing at a fair price and can find someone who has a reasonable charge with a mandrel bender, I will do that. As of right now it looks like it won't be cost productive to get pre bent pieces and fabricate...
Hi there,
So I am looking at fabricating my own divorced down pipe for my 7mgte with a stock CT26. I have contemplated just buying a down pipe, but I really want a divorced one. The reason I am not buying one from BIC is because 1. I cannot afford it and 2. I can potentially make this for a...
I was under the thought that there were really only 2 junkyards around, Upullusave and picknpull in Auburn. Do you know of any junkyards in NY that have MK3 supras? That would definitely help me out big time!
Basic story line, my door got ripped backwards the wrong way towards the hood. Bent the door. door hinges and the fender. So now I am shopping for all three!
I cannot find any Supras in my area where I can attain these parts (upstate NY). It seems that I can get a pair of new aftermarket...
I'm looking to do the headgasket on my 7mgte. I am looking at a victor Reinz Nitroseal headgasket from rockauto. https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=2654710&cc=1278468&jnid=479&jpid=5
Stays cool at temperatures up to 1,800° F
• Doesn't know how to relax... no re-torque...
My door got ripped off (well almost) my maroon supra. Fender and door are not happy. :( Horrible luck. Anyone know anywhere abouts of a supra graveyard in the northeast haha?
Hi there, before I jump into my question let me give some background info real quick like. I tried starting my car up yesterday and it started but it won't stay running unless you press on the gas right before it studders and dies. Got a code for mass air flow meter and iirc tps. I had some...
Well, I've been working a while on the car so I thought I'd start a thread finally.
It all started out at the end of winter. My Subaru was a little rusty from our wonderful NY roads. So I was like hey, I want a RWD car. I had a few options and I searched for weeks for any one of the options...
