Layered some fiberglass on top of repair just in case battery was to leak again (not on my watch). Now I have to sand again and apply a bondo coat on top of fiberglass. Then remove sub-frame, paint engine bay and sub-frame, install Ronnie's/Energy Suspension bushings and start putting front end...

Still gathering parts here and there. Just cutted-off the rusted battery tray section and also removed engine bay's wiring preparing for paint. "Time and energy" issue as the title reads, are playing their roll big time (hot and humid weather are taken a toll on my 48 yr old body). Will post...

Wrecked my 89 M/T turbo shell on the way to the paint shop yesterday (7/12/2013)

My love/obsession is for the MK3 is so, that I just cannot swallow sending this car to the yard. I've already purchased another 89 that's basically rust free (except for the Battery location as usual). Here is the restoration build's link thread...

    Build question

Here is an old thread on "MKIII Turbo Staged Modification Guide". It dates back to 2005 (I wish we had an updated version here on SM or any of the other forums). http://www.thesupraforums.com/showthread.php?t=1 About money not being a factor.... The Supra game is a "money pit" and you will...

Update on 7MGE pull-out. Un-fortunately, the tranny left a goodbye mark. I had to pull it off by myself and believe I had a beer too many. This is the actual time I finished the pull 10:30 PM. Have to wrench it late evenings due to the high temps and humidity in South FL.

RonnieK Front Subframe Bushings - Sleeve Play

Buying a yellow set from Ronnie and brought this tread to his attention. I also mentioned the sleeve length issue as I've read about it here on other SM threads. Here is my email log with RK. I though I post it so other members with the same concerns could find answer to RK bushing questions...

    7mgte freeze plugs

Just trying to order the plug set from Curt at Elmhurst Toyota, but I'm counting 11 and the invoice list shows 9 (the same listed by "gs2040215" on post #4) The two that I'm additionally counting are part # 11432B. They look just like 11431C (rear) but a few mm smaller (see yellow highlight on...

89 7MGTE | time machine restoration, "build".Highly motivated with no time or energy

Found many threads in regards to installing "Freeze Plugs", but none about removing them. I most likely will take the block for the 4th time to the machine shop to have them installed, but want to clean/prepare the holes first. Question: How to remove the plugs?

89 7MGTE | time machine restoration, "build".Highly motivated with no time or energy

The more I research and dig for FP options, the more confusing it gets. Tech question: A) Is it really absolutely necessary to replace "Freeze Plugs" on a FL car??? (I didn't replace them. They all looked fine). B) Machinist told me I could use new OEM head bolts with the 2.0 MGH...

89 7MGTE | time machine restoration, "build".Highly motivated with no time or energy

Why is that??? I already bought it (Aluminum crank pulley). Went through your whole build thread last night. It took me near 4 hours to go over all 535 posts. Nicely logged and presented. Some members have reported fitment issues with the Ronnie K front bushings set, but the threads are a...

So just bought a 87 supra, blowing white smoke on occasion

My 2006 750Li BMW has the same symptoms due to its nemesis (valve seals). As a result, it consumes lots of oil. You will see the smoke if you idle and then hit the throttle as you describe. Un-fortunately, I've been advised to just wait until the engine dies and replace it since the cost of...
