alright i jumped those terminals in the box but didn't notice any difference? I also tried bypassing the resistor, as done in the 12v mod, this seemed to make the pump louder. I never noticed a whine before but after having it bypassed it seemed to make noise. Took it for a test drive this way...

My brothers car has been doing this for about a month as well. He can drive it all day without getting into boost, but as soon as he starts rolling into the throttle he gets the same kind of cut out
Are there any major differences in the 3mz-fe's found in the Toyota Solara and the Toyota Highlander? As in, would there be any major issues fitting a Highlander with 3mz-fe from a Solara. Im assuming that most things would be the same being as though both cars have the same engine to begin...
I did mine a year ago. as far as i can remember, there might be one or two electrical connectors, but its mostly just a tangle of vacuum lines. when i did it, i first unbolted the cruise control unit so i could move it around freely and see exactly what connections needed to me removed...
when i removed mine, i just took out the actual cruise control unit that is located near the firewall on the drivers side, along with all the vacuum lines that were connected to it. Just make sure you do not have a vacuum leak when you are finished. shouldn't take more than an hour to do. Hope...
Are you sure the valve is working properly?
Sometimes they may look like they are working, when in reality they are not. If i were you i would take the valve off the vehicle and inspect it to see if it moves freely, if it puts up much fuss, just take a piece of pipe and use it to bypass that...
