ok i have been thinking about this, im glad this thread came up cause now i know not to. However I believe that my supra is running a JDM ecu, is there anyway to tell? Cause if it is running a JDM ECU then i will go ahead and remove the EGR.

your the second person to mention to me that wrist pin issues are rare for these motors. Does anyone have an explanation as to why? I just figure if im in the motor i might as well spend the lil extra cash for some wrist pins if i can find them but if i can ill just replace the sleeves.

well im not sure anything is wrong but we are having the bottom end blue printed and balanced and we are replacing the rings and bearings so i might as well replace the wrist pins while im at it. The motor does have a knock but im not sure yet on whether its from the wirst pin or the bearings.

yeah ur right they were not felpros they were EMG or something like that from napa. But i beleive that the company is owned by felpro. What about wrist pins? I still have yet to find some wrist pins. Im looking into finding some from a different application with the same dimensions.

Ok so we are working on rebuilding our poopras 7mgte due to some rod knock. I believe we are pretty settled on some clevite 77 bearings for the bottom end and of course a new oil pump. So far for piston rings the only thing we are comfortable with is the fel-pro rings, we are using the stock...

This is exactly how I feel. Its a shame the way the automotive industry is turning and its up to us to keep it afloat. What would you do if one day you wanted to buy a HKS or KN air filter and they were no where to be found because they have been replaced with spectres or worse?

Just get a donut, its much easier and only cost a few bucks.

yeah it needs a ground. it may just be your buddys is grounding through the head or valve covers. Check the CPS like mentioned before, and make sure that there is no loose connections under the fuse box cause thats what got me.

Ive got a Magnaflow on mine with Megan Racing Turbo back piping and love it. DO NOT buy a N1 unless it is a true Apexi N1. But like Canuckrz said if you ever plan on going turbo dont waste your money outfitting it with a full exhaust. If you plan on going turbo you could always do a 3" axle back.

hey you can peice together a decent intercooler piping set in a hurry for cheap from home depot....lol. Of course its not the best way but when your factory pipe splits and you need a quick fix you cant beat it.
