Thanks for the replies. I am getting intermittent power loss. This has been at issue for the last 3 years. I have noticed that it is much worse during the winter (Florida) and at times nonexistent until after a hard acceleration. Then it begins to buck (only way I know how to explain it)...

I have a 1990 turbo and am wondering what symptoms I would have if the catalytic converter(s) or exhaust was clogged to any degree. Can this happen?

Yes, it is a GTE. Just checked that resistance and it reads 0.00. Will replace. Thanks for the info.

The adjustment solved the code 51 but I am still getting a code 21. Anyone know reasons this would be the case and where I should begin looking?

K. I have adjusted the TPS and the timing. Both are plumb according to the TSRM. BTW be sure to adjust the TPS based on your engine. It seems there are many who have had problems adjusting the TPS. The two engines (7mgte & 7mge) have sensors that are opposites to one another. The terminals...

Is there any possible connection between running rich and the TPS needing adjustment? I am getting 21 and 51 for codes and am trying to figure out how to solve what's going on. I have put on a new TPS and am wondering if I need to adjust etc.

Ok I've looked at the TSRM and have located the air conditioner switch, neutral start switch and oxygen sensor but don't have an idea where to go from there. I am also assuming they have nothing to do with my lack of turbo. Any help is appreciated...

It picks up but I don't get the usual turbo kick. It acts as if it's a non turbo. I am getting codes 21 and 51 which have to do with an air conditioner switch or neutral start switch (51) and the oxygen sensor or oxygen sensor heater switch (21). I am not sure what those mean nor where they...

Just to report the findings of this issue. The culprit was a bad starter. Replaced it and it starts fine. I have another question about what is going on with my turbo. It isn't kicking in. Any one know reasons why this might happen.

Scotty, think I will be in the clear a couple days next week. Any free days next week for you? Would love to get mine looking like yours but for now I'll be satisfied with it running.
