Wow this thing blew up, thanks for all the replies I checked with my machinist and he checked all the clearances with the pistons and I'll be going with a 2.0 mm gasket. The block was a stock block and had never had any work done to it. The reason it had to have so much taken off was the guy...
Talked to my machinists today and got some shitty news.. He had to deck my block @.016 removed. It was pretty rusted from sitting so long from the previous owner. My question is what thickness Head gasket do I need Ive got .040 probe pistons forged rods and will be trying to push 450+hp. I...

Ha yeah between christmas and moving the bills gonna be that high for a while. Ive been selling a few parts lately and thats helping to bring it down a bit.
Anybody ever tried to fiberglass there dash. Ive got a few ideas about this and was wondering if anyone has done it before. I figured that fiberglass was flexible enough to resist movement and not crack. I was thinking of fiberglassing the whole thing and painting it back to stock with maybe...

Yeah, pretty much everything plugged right in. The only problem that I had was the steering wheel I used my 88 steering wheel because it was in better shape. The horn and cruise had to be rewired to the 89 column.
I just changed out my 88 steering column and light switches to my 89 column and light switches. My high/low switch is stuck it wont go off of high beam. Wuzup with this any ideas of whats wrong it seems to be stuck I dont want to break it.

Im interested in the oem light weight pulleys... Im with IJ on the fact of the underdrive pulley for the WP it doesnt fit right in my mind. Either way the loss of weight is a plus either way you look at it so Im game.

It is possible I did it last night. I switched my 89 column into my 88 and the switches worked fine. Everything plugged into the 89 from my 88 perfect. My 89 wasnt airbag equipped though.
