    Code 42

Cable is prolly worn out. Or the gear in the speedo said bye bye. Disassembly might also learn you a few things about the Odometer ;)

I had no idea you had that much time and money invested into your supra IJ.

Whats your fastest highway mph ??

~150 (6000 RPMS) on Highway 140 chasing (And losing to) a WRX. The guy in the WRX said his speedo read 150 when I backed off (Although most speedos are not really accurate at those speeds) Mods = 11PSI (The ghetto way with longer bolts and washers), Self made Cold Air Intake, Self Made 3"...

    N/A w/ r154

But why would he want to go through all the trouble to convert just to get the weaker tranny. IMO the job should be right the first time. Turbo engine, turbo tranny. Why even fuss with the W58 tranny if you're just gonna convert to Turbo. And the parts for the R154 conversion aren't even...

    N/A w/ r154

R154's are notchy when they are new and smooth when they're old ;) Wouldn't it make sense that a newer transmission would be tighter and an old beat one be looser? My R154 has 40k Toyota miles on it with MT-90 and it always goes into gear and never grinds, but it's notchy. My old R154 had...

    Where did the Supra's go?

"Where'd all the Supras go?" First, they sit in garages or on the street waiting to be worked on by their poor owners. Second, they end up in a junkyard for various reasons ie: Onwer too dumb to fix, Owner too poor to fix, owner parked it in a bad area and it gets stripped, or owner parks...

Car heating up on the highway?

All they are trying to say simply is that those situations do not apply to the 7M. I personally have worked on several different 7M's and I've never seen a rad hose suck shut, although I did have an LT1 buick roadmaster that had its lower hose suck shut. That was a fantastic time on the side...

Car heating up on the highway?

You can find pics of JJ's car on this site if you look for them, and personally I would LOVE to see pics of JJ's other vehicles :). I know JJ doesn't need me to stand up for him, but IMO he's one of the most intelligent individuals who's bothered to donate some of his time to this forum to help...

Car heating up on the highway?

So if I'm understanding correctly here, the engine getting a little hot should be little cause for worry? Also, I would really appreciate it if someone could explain to me how a high OAT coolant will impact how the radiator transfers heat to the air versus a phosphate coolant.

Car heating up on the highway?

I am having similar symptoms at highway speeds with the A/C (R12) on. The car is a 88 NA/Auto converted to Turbo/5spd (4.3:1 LSD). I am running the OEM HG (New with ARP Studs) and a Jetjock style coolant filter. The car has all new/rebuilt following: Radiator (Modine Aluminum Core plastic...

How old were you when you got your first Supra?

18, Saved from the crusher at a local junkyard. I bought it with a BHG NA motor and a blown auto tranny with no interior, It was my first car. Since then I've dumped tons of blood and sweat (and some money) into it to make it a reliable Turbo 5spd Daily Driver with bolt-ons. I hope to keep...

    WIX oil filters

I have never been able to get the Wix 51515 (Ford filter) to fit into my turbo supra without getting extremely creative (Ie: jacking the motor up). The Wix 51348 is a good filter and that's what I've been running since I got this engine back in the car. Best place to find wix filters: Napa...

Who is using r12? Who is using R134a?

Still running R-12 here, blows 41-47 in 100+ weather (On low), the temperature would rise when you increase the fan speed. The only problem that I can see with R-12 is finding it. It runs at lower pressure than R-134a and seems to cool better (In my experience). Running my big 'ol clutch fan...

Poll: Pick a color for my Supra.

I like that purple too, but theres too much red in it for my tastes. Needs to be more blue, more black, and less red... with a metallic flake.. with sawblades on correctly. :D As far as rims go, I haven't decided yet. I kinda like the American racing Torq-Thrusts... kinda mustang though...

Poll: Pick a color for my Supra.

So I've decided on Midnight Purple Metallic. I'll be posting pics of the process in a build thread along with the various engine stuff I'll be doing. Thanks again for all of your votes and opinions! Shawn

    SILV, who's going???

I'll be there with a fresh Midnight Purple Metallic paint job and polished sawblades!

Poll: Pick a color for my Supra.

Like I said, if you've nothing constructive to say, don't say anything. You are merely cluttering up the thread. Back on topic: White, Black, and Red supras are my favorites, but there are so many supras - especially white - in those colors, and I want to be somewhat original. Thank you...

Poll: Pick a color for my Supra.

Was that really necessary? Just trying to do something different here. I understand that both of the colors are out there and that this whole thread is about opinions, but you didn't even offer an alternative for me, you just flamed. All I have to say to you sir is GTFO. If you don't...

Poll: Pick a color for my Supra.

I think super red supras look Friggin' HOT, but I'm trying to stay away from stock color shades ie: Dark blue, Teal Metallic, Super Red, Super White, Gay Blue, Black, ect. And I agree on the STI blue, it's just I can't get the forumula in an Enamel. The only formula that I can find is...
