The A340E (auto trans) that I have now has a comp shift kit in it and I kinda like it. What did you find off about the wiring sticky? Im beginning to think now that a stock ECU is looking like a better option. I also like the blitz ECU but it seems to only be available in manual trans setup...
So I have a couple of questions and i guess I just missed the answers in the forum, but here goes...
1: what kind of stand alone will work for a swap like this? Everybody seems to just know what will work somehow
2: will a 1JZ out of a soarer work for this kind of swap?
3: how much work will it...
Lol not many people swap a 1JZ into an automatic (I only have one leg, can't drive stick anymore) and I haven't met any 1jz owners here in MD. But I'm 99% sure I'm just gonna swap over, the only thing that worries me is the electrical, do I go stand alone? Or stick with stock ECU? Do I buy a...
Yeah it kinda sucks lol, oh well I was waiting for the other foot to drop on this car, for the price I paid its still a great deal, just not as great as I first thought :/
Well it turns out that my "endless" brake system was nothing more than some brake covers... This kinda pisses me off because that kinda what sold me on the car was the concept of it having a BBK already installed and me not having to mess with it :/
Also found out that my rear calipers are rusted so bad that they are useless, my power steering hoses are leaking, and my trans case is leaking around the seal on the bottom. I'm ordering the calipers, seals, and hoses tomorrow afternoon, and when the auto skills center on post opens back up on...
Well more good news today, so I got a muffler put on and the nasty twin straight pipes removed. Well now that I can actually hear my engine, it turns out that my engine has a rod knocking :( now I don't know what to do. Do I actually swap it out for a 1JZ? Do I just pull the engine and rebuild it?
These are the only pics I have of them, the car is in Missouri right meow do I can't take any more just yet, but I will have my parents take some pics in the garage for you as well...
I have a set of 962s on my '87 in gunmetal, with the offset, they look great and really go with the curves of the car...
So get the other ones so that we don't dress alike lol
I really just like the concept of it and I think it adds an updated look to the interior. If I was wanting an actual race car I would replace the whole suspension, but this suits me better I think... If I can find one... :/
