As you have been running the cams for a few weeks & are going to install another adjustable cam wheel it might be a good idea to take pictures of the #1 journals to see if there is any unusual wear & check how wide your grooves are.
I dont think mine are a one of, unfortunately.:nono...

Received the cams today.
The oil groove on intake journal #1 is around 7mm compared to 4mm on the Toyota one & both #1 oil supply holes are mostly blocked.
The exhaust is around 4mm wide.
Just took my car out to clear out the cobwebs (again).:aigo:
Under wot in 2nd it changes around 5,800 in normal mode and 6,200 under power mode.
Will definately have to install new valve springs :cry: to take advantage of the extra revs the new cams will pull :biglaugh: as the old ones are...
I really wonder how much research & development went into getting the cam timing right?
I know all engines are different to a degree but it should not take a lot of fiddling with both the intake & exhaust timing, unless you have done a lot of modification & machining.

The total exhaust should be 236 (180 + 48 +8) ie opens 48 BBDC & closes 8 after TDC giving 8 degrees of overlap.
Well I think using the term valve lift is a bit confusing as the 7M engines use overhead cams so the valves actually fall not rise when they come of the seat.
There isnt a lot of room to place the dial gauge on the bucket or shim but the way I see it you would have to preload the gauge to...
Did you put in new camshaft seals & install them properly?
You need to put some sealant in four areas around cam bearing #1 otherwise it will leak oil there sooner or later.
I would not disturb the head as I believe your problem is coming from towards the top of the head area.

All I want to know is how well the n/a 7MGE engine goes when you install the turbo intake cam in it.
Will it suffer from loosing too much torque down low compared to the extra power up top.

Just after some feedback from anyone that has tried the turbo intake cam in the n/a engine.
Has slighly more lift & longer duration so should give a mild top end increase.
I would just like to know the opening & closing values of the valves @50 thou lift for my current cams.
Already determined that my crank TDC mark is not accurate.
Have a adjustable cam gear on the intake so can vary the timing there to determine the best position for maximum bhp.

So has anybody done a dyno readout with either the BC264 or 272 cams installed so we can see where the improvements are?
Hopefully 264 in a 7MGE would be great.
