    My Coilover Concept

So long as the wall thickness of the damper body is sufficient (if you are welding to it, it should be!), anywhere you want... It's not a deep groove. Many dampers use this setup to locate the spring perch including Bilstein, Koni and the apexi's I have on my car right now. Your setup...

Pre 89 vs 89+ Steering rack differences (especially rack & tie rod ends)

Got under the car again and measured and inspected the inner and outer ends on my own car. I can't see a single difference between the two sides, so pulled the trigger on the 89+ ebay purchase. If they are threaded differently, I am screwed :P Will keep this updated. Fingers crossed :)

Pre 89 vs 89+ Steering rack differences (especially rack & tie rod ends)

Is anyone able to help here? I've done a bit more searching across several forums, but have only been able to find vague info. I am reading about some differences in rack / tie rod-end length, but nothing concrete. Can anyone point me in the right direction here? I really need to order...

    My Coilover Concept

Good work, very cool. Would love to do something similar - and still might. Question - why did you choose a spot weld over a groove with a snap (shear) ring?

Pre 89 vs 89+ Steering rack differences (especially rack & tie rod ends)

Hi guys and girls, Firstly, I have done a search, but my apologies if I have over-looked anything (past midnight here). Feel free to point me in the right direction if this is the case. I am planning a complete front end rebuild including new inner and outer tie-rod ends. (or rack ends if...

    Sydney - Mars on Earth!

    Sydney - Mars on Earth!

Yeah I live in Brisbane Queensland and we have had two dust storms here in the last week. I don't suffer from allergies, and tried to limit my exposure, but it messed me up badly regardless. Still picking crap out of my nose (not kidding). I'm 23, and I've never seen anything like it in...

    Howdy from Adelaide, Australia

Hi Dale, Welcome! I like your car, it looks nice and clean. Unmolested is good :) From Brisbane myself & always nice to see another Aussie. If you need help to source things locally (difficult & custom parts / labour) definately don't be afraid to ask the AU guys. You're pretty likely to...

Turbo-A about to have it's heart removed

There was some info on pillar pods posted in this thread: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56830 Good luck and awesome to hear you are keeping everything tasteful. A tacky Turbo A would be a crime :)

Got ya hooked line and WHAT!!! Impounded

If you are going to complain about weird Australian traffic laws on an international forum, can you at least adhere to the conventions of written English? Thanks ;)

Turbo-A about to have it's heart removed

Amazing car - so clean! :aigo: What about a 2 guage A-pillar pod? They make them specific to the A70 and you should be able to get a nice colour match. A 2 guage one will let you keep the 'handle' and the shape of the A70 tends to hide the guages fairly well.

Any updates on the insurance situation? Why are you trying to source parts? Why isn't her insurance doing the legwork?

+2! You didn't buy a car as rare as this to use as a 'run-about'. There's no cost to you to ensure it gets fixed correctly, so make sure it happens :)

She's done the responsible thing, agreed. However, nobody is getting 'raped' if the job is done correctly and paid for through HER INSURANCE. That's the reason it is there, and costs lots of money. They aren't exactly a charity... She will have to pay her insurance excess in any case, so go...

Its Great Waking Up To This.

I can second the willingness to help and quality of service from castle hill toyota. They often get stuff to me faster than my local dealer and haven't screwed anything up yet. I have only dealt with James Sloane at Castle Hill via email and he is a champ :) I have always placed my orders...

Its Great Waking Up To This.

Hello, nice looking turbo A you have there. Where about in Brisbane are you? Have I seen you on Cavindish road, would have been a few months ago? I was in a silver A70 giving you a thumbs up and looking like a dickhead.. :) Sorry to see this happen to her, but at least the person who hit...

    Rhd

You did read *everything* I typed above, right? ;) Does your car have its books or service history? Got any pretty stickers on your timing belt cover? :sarcasm: Not trying to have a shot at you, but just don't want to see anyone get stung because they think every Japanese car is an...

New Guy - DeSloths Aussie MA70 Project (56k Warning)

Eh? Trim you see in the early posts has been on the car for 12 months without an issue. Getting the hole filled by a bumper repair place is definately what I would do next time. The different materials seems to interfere with the metallic flakes and even possible the paint itself. The result...

    Rhd

Is a RHD supra even going to be legal where you live? Can you get insurance? Everything about a RHD car is designed for driving on the left-hand side of the road. Just to get started: -Seating position (duh) -Mirrors -Headlights The seating position will introduce huge blind spots...
