check your wires and the metal plate the runs across the spark plug valley. it should have a rubber coating.

the abs system works good for 20 years old. ive slammed on the brakes and still had control and didn't lock up.

ya if you remove it you will need the non abs brake lines and remove the abs computer next to the engine ecu. brakes will work fine but they will lock up if braking to hard. imo i would keep it since you have it. you could always make a cover for it to hide it.
