I'm gonna agree with almost everyone else in this thread and tell you to get a reliable DD, that gets good gas mileage. The Supra was probably killing you with gas prices being so high.

I removed my R154 just to replace the tranny... it was a huge PITA!! Getting the started bolts back on was the worst of it.
When I removed my motor to rebuild it, I removed motor/tranny together. It was a breeze with the help of various threads on here...
