I'm gonna agree with almost everyone else in this thread and tell you to get a reliable DD, that gets good gas mileage. The Supra was probably killing you with gas prices being so high.

Just FYI, I have done both before... I removed my R154 just to replace the tranny... it was a huge PITA!! Getting the started bolts back on was the worst of it. When I removed my motor to rebuild it, I removed motor/tranny together. It was a breeze with the help of various threads on here...

When I had my '90 shipped from NV to OH, I just google'd "car shipping" or something like that. I think I paid about $800.00 to ship it.

If you are worried, just send them to RC for cleaning. May be worth it if it ends up saving your motor.
